Thuy and I live in a relatively quiet suburb north of Seattle named Bothell, WA. We are on an adoption journey to Vietnam.
We enjoy getting outside and taking walks and hikes when it isn’t raining, the wonderful summers of the Pacific Northwest, Puget Sound, Lake Washington, Snoqualmie Falls and Deception Pass and finding the best Vietnamese food in Little Saigon in the Seattle International District. We also love being able to take short drives to see Mt. Rainier, Glacier Peak, Mt. Baker, Mt. St. Helens, Mt. Adams, Olympic Moutains, Mt. Hood, Portland, Oregon, Vancouver, British Columbia and Victoria, British Columbia.
Our adoption theme song is:
When Love Takes You In
I know you’ve heard the stories
But they all sound too good to be true
You’ve heard about a place called home
But there doesn’t seem to be one for you
So one more night you cry yourself to sleep
And drift off to a distant dream
Where love takes you in and everything changes
A miracle starts with the beat of a heart
When love takes you home and says you belong here
The loneliness ends and a new life begins
When love takes you in
And somewhere while you’re sleeping
Someone else is dreaming too
Counting down the days until
They hold you close and say I love you
And like the rain that falls into the sea
In a moment what has been is lost in what will be
When love takes you in everything changes
A miracle starts with the beat of a heart
And this love will never let you go
There is nothing that could ever
cause this love to lose its hold
When love takes you in everything changes
A miracle starts with the beat of a heart
When love takes you home and says you belong here
The loneliness ends and a new life begins
When love takes you in it takes you in for good
When love takes you in
Someone told me I should read your blog and I did. I was the one who Thuy helped translate when we had to give our daughter to the foster family. We are so incredibly grateful for your help during such a devastating moments. Words just can’t express how thankful I am for your sensitivity and compassion towards our family. We have found a more suitable foster placement for our daughter and are continuing to fight to bring her home with the help of an international adoption attorney. We hope and pray that she will be home with us after the first of the year. Again, we are so grateful to you. Wishing you a smooth process for your remaining time in Vietnam and safe travels home.
Sincerely,
Julie Carroll and family
We are also a CAS family who adopted from Tuyen Quang this year. Your blog is so poinent - it is so bitter sweet to take these beautiful children home. But also so wonderful!
I wish you all the best - what beautiful children!
Michael and Thuy,
Audrey gave me the link to this site. What a beautiful family you have. I think this was meant to be. We miss you both back here in Texas, but I know you’re home and how great that is for you all. I love this site - it’s nice to be able to keep up with friends who are far away. Best wishes for many more wonderful times together.
Teresa
